What is the Parent Network?

The Akiba-Schechter Parent Network is a parent-led organization that seeks to enhance our children’s school experience by building a strong parent body. We believe that when parents volunteer together, socialize together, learn together and meaningfully communicate with each other, we help create a more cohesive and nurturing community. Because of our school’s geographically diverse population, it is sometimes difficult for parents to connect. The Parent Network exists, in part, to help minimize that divide.
We build connections by:
• Welcoming new families
• Creating vibrant community-building programs
• Organizing staff appreciation events and activities
• Offering volunteer support of school programs
• Maintaining a yahoo group to support parent communication

To date, we are a non-dues paying organization. We invite parents to consider a modest donation of $18 to help support our school efforts. Checks can be made out to the Akiba-Schechter Parent Network.
