Our Campus
Completed in 2005, Akiba-Schechter’s striking elementary school building was designed by renown Chicago architect John Ronan. Hebrew letters cast into the concrete panels on the exterior walls lend interest and a whimsical Jewish theme, while an all-glass atrium joins the new structure to the pre-school building.
We are proud that our building received the following architecture awards:
- 2007 AIA Distinguished Building
- 2006 Chicago Architecture Foundation Patron of the Year

Our pre-school building was renovated in 2006 and 2007. In September 2007, we were fortunate to complete our campus with the Coleman Family Playground, themed around the cycles of the moon in reference to the Jewish calendar.
